Funding and Grant Sources for Vegan Advocacy
Looking for funding for your next project? Besides VegFund, several other organizations provide funding, grants, or scholarships for vegan advocacy and educational undertakings.
Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE) awards grants for capacity-building exercises, including research, knowledge sharing, intersectional work, and other activities that facilitate the growth of the animal advocacy movement through their Effective Animal Advocacy Fund (EAA Fund).
The Awesome Foundation grants $1,000 to an “awesome” vegan project through its Vegan Chapter.
Giant Steps Foundation’s Greening Grants fund special events, allowing organizations to offer their guests organic, vegan, and more humane menus. Organizations that have received previous support from Giant Steps Foundation are eligible to apply for a Greening Grant.
Good Food Institute (GFI) awards competitive grants in the areas of cell-based and plant-based meat research.
The Greenbaum Foundation funds health initiatives, including projects focused on improving world health by promoting whole foods plant-based diets, as well as animal rights projects aimed at increasing the awareness, protection, and improvement of the lives of all animals.
The Pollination Project identifies, through a global network of grantees and community partners, extraordinary grassroots leaders who would not likely qualify for funding from other foundations or institutions.
ProVeg International offers financial support to vegan advocacy and meat reduction campaigns outside the United States and across the globe for projects that effectively work toward ProVeg International’s mission to reduce the global consumption of animals by 50% by the year 2040.
A Seed of Change provides grants up to $1,500, with a focus on individuals or small organizations at an early stage that demonstrate pioneering ideas and original thinking. Funding priorities include animal rights and advocacy, environmental sustainability, health, and children’s education.
The Thinking Vegan partners with The Pollination Project to award multiple grants for outstanding and effective animal activism. The organization provides $1,000 in seed funding to an individual or grassroots group making the world a better, more peaceful, and more sustainable place.
Vegan Action/Vegan Awareness Foundation provides guidance, support, and micro food grants to local humane organizations and similar groups in the community to work toward incorporating a vegan policy in respect of all animals by omitting animals at food at events, fundraisers, promotions, and benefit shows.
The Vegan Society offers grants for small- to medium-size grassroots not-for-profit projects that encourage people to go vegan and stay vegan, with an emphasis on new or innovative projects.
A Well-Fed World provides grants for vegan food programs that benefit low-income communities, veganic farming, food distribution, youth empowerment, environmental outreach, plant-based events, online and print advocacy, and farm animal sanctuaries.
